We're on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, near Playa Grande. Most guests fly in through Puerto Plata (POP) or the newer Samaná airport (AZS) — both are the easy choices. Las Américas (SDQ) near Santo Domingo and Santiago (STI) work too if your routing prefers them. Direct flights run daily from Miami and New York. From the U.S., Jet Blue, American, Delta, and United land here regularly; from Canada, West Jet, Air Canada, and seasonal charters like Air Transat. Private jets are welcome. No. Our team speaks English, and everything you'll need — house guides, check-in details, the people you'll meet day to day — comes to you in English. If you'd like to pick up a few words of Spanish along the way, we're happy to share.
Yes. Casa Kimball sits inside a private gated community on a quiet stretch of coast. There's round-the-clock security at the compound gate and at the house itself, plus on-site staff with you every day. Most guests find it noticeably calmer than where they came from — that's part of why we're here.
Eight bedrooms — five Kings, two Queens, and one with a Queen plus a pullout sofa. We keep three deluxe air mattresses and two pack-and-plays with bedding on hand for the little ones. If your group is bigger than the house can hold, we have preferred rates with neighboring villas in the community and can arrange the rest.
Yes — bring them. The house is built for kids of every age. Pool floats, volleyball, a putting course, frisbee, badminton, ping-pong, board games, a smart TV with satellite, and karaoke when the night calls for it. For the youngest guests we keep two car seats, two pack-and-plays with bedding, and two high chairs ready. With toddlers or busier little ones, ask us about child minders so the grown-ups can settle in too.
Yes — fast, free, fiber Wi-Fi throughout the house at 100 Mbps. Bring devices that are already set up and signed in; the team here can point you to the network, but tech support isn't their specialty. And if you're hoping to step away from screens for a few days, the house is a good place for it.
Yes — and we love hosting them. Weddings, milestones, family reunions, a quiet anniversary dinner under the stars: tell us what you're imagining and our team will plan around it. If your guest list outgrows the house, we'll help arrange rooms in the community nearby.
To hold your dates, we ask for a 50% deposit within 7 days of your booking request. The balance — along with the meal plan and any special-event packages — is due 30 days before you arrive. If you're booking inside that 30-day window, the full payment is due within 5 days of the request. Deposits and payments are non-refundable. If plans change and you need to cancel, we'll credit what you've paid toward another stay within the next year. And in the rare case the villa becomes unavailable on our end, you'll be refunded in full.
